2025 - What a Year!!

Well our 2025 season has come to a close but what a year it has been!!!

Our last club competition of the year, the Mixed Triples, attracted a bumper field on Sunday 31st August. The draw for the competition threw up some interesting combinations which in turn provided some results which would have given any bookmaker a big headache. The two teams making it to the final were Tony Swales, Terry Yates and Nick Mitchell who took on Don Davies, Julie Hutt and Bob Mumford. Tony's team prevailed but stamina probably played a part when you realise that the combined age of Don's team was over 230 years!!

In the leagues three of our teams had outstanding results. Our Highley 'A' team under captain Mervyn Jarman took an early lead in Division 2 and never looked back finally finishing in top place and securing promotion to Division 1 in 2026. They were ably supported by the 'B' team captained by Tony Partridge which finished in a super third place which was quite an achievement as the team included a number of newer members. Finally our Mid-Shropshire 'B' team led by Peter Yates had a stunning away win against closest rivals Albrighton in the last game of the season to secure promotion to Division 4 in 2026.

Congratulations to all of our league players for some superb performances in the 2025 season and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2026.
