Hard on the heels of the Olympian Singles the Wenlock Olympian Doubles competition was hosted by the Much Wenlock Bowling Club on Sunday 23rd June. Match organiser Bob Mumford welcomed the 11 doubles teams to the green and kicked off the first games at 10am.

The weather was hot and so was the bowling with some fine performances throughout the day.

In the semi-finals Sue Coneely and Dave James triumphed over Tim & Lynda Lowe while home club favourites Peter Gyldard and Tony Swales saw off the challenge from Des Coneely and Matt Pritchard.

The final proved to be a bit of a one-sided affair with the heat finally getting to Peter & Tony allowing Sue and Dave to lift the trophy for the second successive year.

Our photos show the winners and runners-up with Bob Mumford and Chairman of the Wenlock Olympian Committee Chris Cannon.
